‘River, Town, Castle and Kirk’ an exhibition of Leishman paintings at Stirling Castle

Currently displayed in the castle’s Unicorn Cafe is a wide selection of mixed media contemporary Scottish paintings by Stirling artist Iona Leishman.  The show reflects the land and townscapes of Edinburgh and Stirling, the River Forth that joins them, their ancient castles and places of worship.

Iona was Historic Environment Scotland’s first artist in residence at Stirling Castle and has exhibited consistently there since 2011.  Her knowledge and feeling for the castle and its human history is expressed through her vividly-imagined historical paintings.

Opening times: Every day 9.30am to 5pm, last entry 4.15pm.  Free with castle entry ticket.
